Human Skin Layers and Functions

Human skin consists of epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis. The skin serves as a means of excretion because of the sweat glands (glands sudorifera) located in the dermis layer.
The epidermisThe epidermis is composed of the horny layer (stratum layer) and a layer of Malpighi. Corneum layer is a layer of dead skin, which can flake off and are replaced by new cells. Malpighi layer consists spinosum layer and germ layers. Spinosum layer serves to hold the friction from the outside. Germ layer contains cells that actively divide, replacing the layer of cells in the corneum layer. Malpighi layer containing the pigment melanin that gives color to the skin.

DermisThis layer contains blood vessels, hair follicles, nerve endings, sweat glands, and sebaceous glands. Sweat glands produce sweat. The amount of sweat that is released can be up to 2,000 ml per day, depending on the needs of the body and the temperature setting. Sweat contains water, salt, and urea. Another function as a means of excretion is an organ recipient sebgai stimulation, protection against physical damage, irradiation, and germs, as well as for the regulation of body temperature.
At high ambient temperature (heat), sweat glands become active and dilated capillaries in the skin. Widening of capillaries will facilitate the process of removing water and metabolic waste. Sweat gland resulting in perspiration on the skin surface by way of evaporation. Evaporation resulted in skin surface temperature down so we do not feel the heat anymore. Conversely, when the ambient temperature is low, inactive sweat glands and capillaries in the skin constrict. In these circumstances the blood does not dispose of metabolic waste and water, as a result of evaporation is greatly reduced, so that the temperature of the body and the body does not experience kendinginan. Sweating is controlled by the hypothalamus
HypodermicThis layer lies below the dermis. This layer contains a lot of fat. Fat serves as a reserve of food, body armor against shock, and a hot body.
The skin has several functions:- As a means of spending the sweat glands.- As a means of touch.- As a protective organs underneath.- The Vitamin D made with the help of sunlight.- The temperature of the body.- The hoard fat.
